Hi everyone, I'm wondering about resources for developing a business model based on biblical principles. Or something like a generic business model that could be applied with scriptural references. I know business models are different for each industry or even for each business, but something general that I'm working with is the concept of having 4 key areas: 1) products and service -value, target, capabilities 2) infrastructure management -value, network, resources and assets 3) customer relationship -Information strategy, Channels, Trust 4) financial aspects -Revenue, Cost structure, Profit any ideas on developing this from a biblical perspective? |

I have several business plans I am working on. Are there any places to submit Christian business plans? Also who are the funders of Christian businesses? Is there a directory of such? I need seed funding. Please respond to: startupinformation2@yahoo.com |

Dear Brethren, Thanks to this site. I am really interested in applying the Word of God to business dev. coz I believe that business or enterprise is a resource multiplier. Likewise I believe that God would like Christians to produce wealth in order to support the different ministries God has allowed to reach more souls for the LORD Jesus Christ. One of the approaches to wealth building is multi-level marketing. Specifically, I am into Nature's Sunshine Products (marketed by Synergy, a Singapore-based entity) and HealthCode International. Both companies produce and distribute herbal and mineral food supplements. Some say networking is immoral in that prices of products are priced too high, not mentioning the attractions of big income potentials. Personally however, I think that the approach democratizes the opportunities for wealth production: practically investment to MLM business is small so ordinary individuals can involve thereby opening opportunities to more people. Unlike large businesses and franchises where only the moneyed have access. What do you think. Is it proper for a Christian to be involved in MLM? Do you know of some unreported information about the companies I have mentioned herein that may help me decide whether to proceed with their businesses or not? I would appreciate very much your response. God Bless Romy |

Hi Romy, is a good background reading material on MLM from www. One of the key factors that move MLM is influencing the personal network of the down line individuals' family members and friends. The social glue that bonds everyone one together is the implicit trust. Making money at any cost will certainly betray this trust in you and MLM is likely to lead you there with the drive for market saturation. This is the apple we modern Adams have to contend with. Can you live with this conscience yourself, and is this going to be your living testimony of your Christian lifestyle? Matthew 25 28" 'Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents. Your dilemma is how to apply your capabilities in your stewardship watch. The reasonableness of pricing is reflective of the purchasing power of that economic society. A simplistic pricing comprises of cost plus profit that meets your life style and is affordable to the buyer. This includes going the extra mile and therefore the cost to give product/service value to customers. Perceived pricing however generates super profit, which is irrelevant to the reality of cost, quality, value and technology. The purpose of such wind fall for self-benefit and then unwittingly into greed. For the benefit of people related to the business. (employees, creditors, customers) and even the community at large will appear to be magnanimous. It is the question of your agenda? In the market place, you will find the most non-believers! Yet, the classical approach is in Matthew 19:21 Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." Matthew 19:24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." Such is the fine balance on a tight rope one must be prepared to walk in kingdom business. As a Singaporean, I have not heard anything adverse of the products in the market place. Generally, I note price discrepancy pattern in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. |

Nothing wrong with the right MLM. The integrity of products & people, how it works and you get paid are all part of doing the research. I'm a Christian for a long time and am of the opinion that what I use and sell is right for me. |
